This past Sunday I presented Anchal’s Mission and Vision at the Elkins Park Chapter of Dining for Women. The event was held at the beautiful home of Cindy Ariel and Rob Naseef. Cindy Ariel and Sheryl Potashnik, the Co-Leaders of the Chapter were amazing hosts. After a short meeting, where I gave a brief PowerPoint presentation and showed our video, the evening turning into an cornucopia of delicious food and stimulating conversations. It was so wonderful to meet the intelligent and dynamic members of the Elkins Park Chapter and make connections with Dining For Women. Here are some photos of the event.
If you haven’t heard, Dining for Women has chosen Anchal to be the featured program for the month of October!!
“Dining for Women is a dinner giving circle. Our chapter members ‘dine in’ together as a chapter once a month, each bringing a dish to share, and our “dining out” dollars (what we would have spent if we had eaten at a restaurant) are sent to programs empowering women worldwide. We then combine all donations from hundreds of our chapters to support carefully selected international programs each month.”
“Today, more than 375 chapters and 13,000 people have joined DFW, making a difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of women and girls living in the most extreme poverty in more than 30 countries. To date, DFW has raised over $1.9 million, one potluck at a time!”
Anchal is extremely honored to be featured in the Dining for Women program and we hope that with this exposure not only will our program grow, but more importantly our message to end commercial sex trafficking.
Anchal team members from around the country will be attending chapter meetings this month. Colleen and I will be visiting chapters in Kentucky, while Devon and Maria Molfino will meet with chapters in the San Francisco Bay Area. Even fellow blog writer Lizzy Hindman-Harvey is joining the celebration in Philadelphia.
We encourage you to look into this amazing organization and find a chapter near you!
We are thrilled – no, ecstatic! – to announce that we will be featured as Dining for Women’s October 2012 program. Dining for Women is a nonprofit organization that supports organizations like Anchal to work towards women and girls’ economic empowerment in the developing world. How do they have money to give to organizations like us? Dining for Women is a giant giving circle consisting of over 250 chapters nationwide that meet regularly, enjoy a meal together, learn about an urgent cause and then donate to the cause what they would have otherwise spent dining out. With DFW’s members support in October we will be able to offer greater employment opportunities to our artisans, rent a workshop space and purchase needed equipment.
If you haven’t heard of DFW check them out and find – or start – your local chapter. By contributing a little every month you can change hundreds of lives.
