What We Love: Design*Sponge

Standard

Today’s post kicks off our very own ‘What We Love’ column where we’ll feature favorite finds (books, news, stuff, organizations, events…you name it) on our favorite 3 topics (sustainable textiles, women’s empowerment and socially-engaged design). So it’s no surprise that DIY cloth napkins made of recycled bed sheets (sound familiar?) ranked top of our list this week. Featured on an awesome, crafty blog called Design*Sponge, these napkins are so, so simple to make. While the cloth napkin maker is encouraged to get sewing before the summer officially ends, we think you can make and use these any time of year. In fact, the charming floral designs often found on recycled bed sheets could be just the touch of color and spunk you’ll need to brighten up the coming winter months. Happy sewing!
