School Daze Here Again

With the approach of September and fall right around the corner, the back-to-school rush is about to set in. It’s time for backpacks, sharpened pencils and new school supplies. It’s also time for a renewed sense of productivity and a fresh start.

At Anchal, we’ve decided to go ‘back-to-school’ as well – working with an all-girls high school in Louisville to teach them about the dangers and hardships girls no older than them face everyday as sex workers in India. We believe teaching awareness at a young age can promote empathy that will continue to deepen and develop with age.  We’ll talk  about the sex trafficking trade in India and suggest ways they can help the girls and women involved.  We’ll also tap into their brilliance and ask  for feedback and suggestions. Our first visit is next week, so stay tuned for updates!

  1. Your presentation at SHA was wonderful. The young women who were fortunate enough to hear Colleen and Clare speak, were truly impacted by the stories of the women who endure the terrors of the sex trade in India. There were conversations happening all over the building about fund raisers and other ways to support Anchal Project’s mission. Your work makes a difference in the lives of these women, and I so appreciate your willingness and enthusiasm to come speak to the future generations of women who can promote social change in their own creative ways. Thank you.
